How to post specimen?

  1) Please login with your user name and password
  2) Click the link "post specimen". a new page will be displayed.
  3) fill the form and click the button Submit.
     if you are not sure about the species name, please type in "species" 

     if you are not sure about some  information such as location , you can input "unknow" or a blank (you have to type a blank on keyboard)     

    
     you have to post at least one picture for one specimen. the picture size should be less 600*600 .  the picture's Width:heihgt = 4:3, the best size is 400*300

How to view specimen

  1) please login with your user name and password
  2) click the link "search specimen"
  3) input the word you like to search. the word can be family name, species name, genus name,author name, year of description, location ,or combination of them
  4) result of search will be listed. click on picture to view details

  We have a very powerful search tool

If you search with the key word Cypraeidae, you will get all cowries

      If you search with a genus name, you will get all shells in that genus

      If you search  China, you will get all shell collected from China

      If you search   Sowerby, you will find all shells named by Sowerby

     If you search  1758, you will get all shells named in year 1758

     If you search by 17, you will get all shells named in the 18th century

     ..............

     You can search any word you like.

     If you get too many speciment from a search , use combination of key words
